    If you look at the CHN pit design - and look at the higher grade zones they are mining - it may become apparent that 15km of ore from surface (in high grade zones in particular) is comparable or even preferable.

    Don't forget strip ratio or the rhodium or the iridium

    As for GAL, imagine digging down 120m for 2.6g/t gold equivalent grades to mine a horizontal deposit - you'd be locked up for insanity
