Of course the S&P / ASX 300 index is calculated without considering fees!
Fees are only applicable to investment vehicles such as LIC/LITs and ETFs. If you hold shares directly, there are no fees.
AFI even note in their monthly reports It should be noted that index returns for the market do not include management expenses or tax. LIC/LITs and ETFs always carry that disadvantage relative to the index. But one of the questions to ask is how much that relative disadvantage is….ie are you wearing high fees or low fees?
