I agree - lots of hype re Tesla - they were early movers and have benefited from this.
The big car companies have sat back and continued production ICE until the market is more amenable to EVs and technology makes them practical - they have the balance sheets, distribution networks and capital to expand into EV rapidly with price competitive mainstream EVs. Tesla will not disappear but in my opinion will become more a niche manufacturer like Volvo or Jaguar.
