That is exactly what most of us have been doing (why we feel there has been dishonesty), and ironically not what your simplified comments suggest you are doing.

I'm only stating to help you because it is evident you are not very experienced.

Please understand investing is more complex than you make it out, many of us have been invested for a long time and study every single report, statement, financials, charts, strategy, Govt policy, global macros, commodities, customers, target markets etc etc. We also have general experience in this stuff.

It is indeed a lot more like rocket science than you realise. If you don't treat it as such, you are not making decisions with all of the information.
