Archaeological Clearance - Riqueza Drill Permit Moves Forward

Progress continues at Inca Minerals Limited’s (Inca or Company) zinc-silver-lead (Zn-Ag-Pb) Riqueza Project in Peru. As previously announced (25 August 2016), the Company’s Declaracion de Impacto Ambiental (DIA) drill permit is now published on the Ministerio de Energia y Minas’ (MEM) electronic portal (known as SEAL).

An integral and important stage of the process has now also been achieved with the Company receiving its Certificate of the Non-Existence of Archaeological Remains (Certificado de la Inexistencia de Restos Arqueológicos) (CIRA). The Company welcomed receipt of the CIRA from the Ministry of Culture of Peru (Ministerio de Cultura del Perú) as one of a number of important milestones in the Peruvian permitting process.

Receipt of the CIRA also provides the Company with confidence about the quality of archaeological work underpinning both its current exploration strategy, and the drill permit application which includes an allowance for up to 14,000 metres of drilling on 20 drill platforms and almost 3,000m of trenches.

Ross Brown, Inca’s Managing Director, indicated that “Receipt of the CIRA is one of the milestones signalling strong progress with our drill permit application. While there are more (milestones) to achieve, we can aggressively pursue our strategy to find, refine and define drill targets, confident there will be no cultural or archaeological challenges moving forward.”

The Company has recently completed its third mapping and sampling exploration program at Riqueza and expects to announce further results from that program within 10 – 14 days.
