'EDMR isn’t just for quantum computing—it can be used to develop highly sensitive magnetic field sensors which can be applied in biomedical devices, materials science, navigation and Defence.'

Based on the above comment, this is an exciting development. It has the potential for many doors to open up in the near term which would allow Archer to follow through on the quantum side of things.

The ability to analyse magnetic response on a simple carbon-based material in lieu of traditional qubit and sensor readout methods has to be a game charger for the industry which is risk-adverse and capital poor. Companies that are relying on diamond-based devices know that they are huge, expensive, and difficult to scale. So, this offers a way forward that is cost-effective. A quick google search shows that these research institutions, startups, and established companies include TNO, Opsydia, Advent Diamond, Diamfab, and Ookuma Diamond Device Co, Vanderbilt University, Harvard University, etc.

Archer's technology surely would be to someones' advantage? If an electrical spin detection with EDMR is compatible with conventional semiconductor electronics, enabling smaller, integrated devices and simplifying hardware, then doors will open fast for them to partner and take on the development leaving Archer to focus on what it is good at. Win. Win.

In my view, partnerships will undoubtedly be formed from this advancement. FOMO maybe with one of the fore-mentioned companies.
