If the new chip's technical specifications are set to be released to the public later this week, why make this pre-announcement?
AXE could easily wait a few more days, after all it's been 7-8 months since the last update was made on the 1-2-C-Q.
Could it be that AXE is giving its Shareholders and anyone else interested a last chance to top up or miss out?
