AXE and EPFL have gone on past the CMOS chip and the HEMT chip to make an all new pulsed ESR chip to measure and analyse spin states. This is a new approach and chip set or microsystem that delivers a read in a more timely real time way than the more 'traditional' continuous wave ESR method. If this chip makes both cmos and hemt less relevant to quantum and semiconductors at the nanoscale, then this takes the whole quantum industry up a notch.
All with the aim of integrating miniaturised quantum control readout circuits on smaller circuit boards and deploying in small devices. Stated aim here is for quantum sensors. This is likely the nearer term quantum opportunity that AXE is seeking to commercialise.
I would expect some new patents added now to the 12CQ portfolio. Or a qubit in semiconductor development portfolio. Value of AXE IP is significantly more now. However the general market will want buzz words like 'quantum' and 'AI' to generate excitement.
Price sensitive news label - this is adding to IP, significant R&D result. Makes quantum sensor hardware more practicable. The market has to make up its own mind. Those who want to make a n informed decision will have to work out how every chip tech advancement fits into the 'quantum story'. AXE is working on a few different scales of quantum computing. From the very small 1 and 2 qubit chips to the potentially hundred plus qubits. Each chip will have separate development milestones.
