I've found that since the big > $2 party and brief AFR article with a 'damming' bent to it, the stock has very much become a news-trading stock. Any significant technical progress announcement gets a good bump as you could expect, and within a few days we're right back where we were before the news. This has been a focus of discussion on many occasions in this forum, but the more serious long-termers discussing the stock here are essentially ignoring this 'noise' as we are well aware of the risk in this investment but see it as much more lucrative (>> previous maximum SP) once commercialisation begins.
Another important point is (if I recall correctly) late last year an investor update from Mo, he explains in the live stream (and recording posted) that "this isn't months away" (from commercialisation), implying it is definitely years away. But at the same time, commercialisation doesn't necessarily have to be Archer producing the end products, I do believe it has been mentioned years ago that licensing of the IP or designs may be a path to eventual revenue.
Any time announcements have included the words "Archer is producing" I think the day-traders have gone berserk thinking that Archer is actually product the commercial product, but it is producing of the experimental components to do testing of. All the announcements are very technically oriented which even the most knowledgeable on this forum admit to finding it very hard to understand, so, it can be expected that it similarly attracts speculative trades based on announcements.
I'd really like to see us hold close to 60c from this announcement but until there is actual revenue streams mentioned, or significant more marketing of this investment, at this point it seems unlikely that we'll break from this pattern. Nonetheless many won't want to be caught between holdings in case of the event of a takeover bid, or something much more significant to the SP, which would make the 20% profit trades here or there rather moot.
