Basically, there is no urgent need to have quantum computers just now. But, it is going to change rapidly with A.I. taking off lately.
The software & quantum chip development is tipped to be progressing to commercial availability to big companies within next 1 or 2 years, and later to general public. Hence, it would be wise for large companies to wait for new tech R&D to progress towards commercial stage prior to any investment or take over deals, etc.
Maybe A.I. could help speed up the process, especially with writing new quantum software?
Basically, there is no urgent need to have quantum computers...
