Call me a conspiracy theorist, but...:
These unelected movers and shakers have taken it upon themselves to shape the world in a way that benefits them - not the 1% (who tend to be ordinary people like you and me), not even the .1%, but the .01% and above - and would impose on us a way of life - 15 minute cities, digital currencies, social credit scores, exploitative healthcare, exploitative housing markets, "encouraged" veganism, limited travel etc - that they will never have to suffer.
