For those wondering how AR9 shares are traded in on the OTC markets, this webinar was very good.
In short, settlement occurs on the ASX. The shares remain on the ASX registry alone. US market makers take orders from US brokers and execute the transaction immediately on the home exchange if there is operating hour overlap, or they assume some capital risk and execute the trade when the home market opens.
