Yes exactly, they operate on a smaller scale and perhaps receive more for a premium product which is sold domestically. I mentioned in a previous post a company called Fertoz (ASX:FTZ) which is essentially doing exactly this. They are mining phosphate in North America and then selling and distributing various organic fertiliser blends to a variety of customers (including farmers) in North America. So far they have been unprofitable due to a lack of distribution scale (this is the biggest challenge as I see it - building a sufficient customer base) but the signs are there that they may be turning things around.
I actually believe Centrex would be a very good fit for Fertoz given they also have an Asian Pacific business segment and Ardmore could perhaps become their primary source of premium phosphate.
It will be interesting to see the direction Centrex ultimately takes.
