SMEDG have a lot other preso's on their website and their talks/boozers are not too bad things to attend.

I like the work that Ross Cayley and Bob Musgrave do.

Access to their work seemed to be free on the net a while back although lately when I have gone looking I have found it is now on a pay as you want basis.

The Universities still seem to have plenty of free publications, that otherwise are asking for money elsewhere, so the Universities seem to be the go for research papers and publications.
