This is not about being able to "cook" 1kg of BG LCE; it is about proving the production line is working and tuned to get at the end the product.
Of course you can get BG in the lab; imagine you just get a poor quality LCE, diluted with water and start fresh with a "perfect brine"; this will definitely get the BG LCE at the other end, but proves nothing.
In our case was to confirm the process is tuned in such a way that it will get the optimum result.
