I could be wrong so this is IMO...
I believe the "cornerstone strategic investors" to either be coming out of China or have some relationship with the Lithium-ion Battery sector in China.
Buying shares at such a premium as 3c (which is well above market value) means they have a reason to setup AGY for success and I believe it is in their own interest (the soph investors) to setup a Lithium supply source (given the current and future Lithium market in China). 3 million is peanuts for these boys if we have latched onto one (or more) of these soph investors in China.
Just me guessing at this stage but I wouldn't be surprised if this was the case.
