The forum might start to wonder if some of our fellow posters are wolves in sheep’s clothing and that sometimes the more convincing the sheep costume.. the more ravenous the wolf beneath.


For me it’s a case of there isn’t so much of an us and them anymore it’s a we. When half of the team is SMM & MC?
Wow. We have won a huge victory in this deal ( a win for us does not have to mean a loss for our negotiation partners ) - two huge companies will now have $50,000,000 and then almost $100,000,000 to motivate them to get this project moving to completion as a fully operating mine.

Worst case scenario? ARL gets heaps of progress toward completing a DFS at no upfront cost.

50% completion of the DFS ( keep it simple that will mean around $50,000,000 spent by SMM/MC ), earns the consortium 17.5% of the new company. 100% completion of the DFS earns them 35% ( another $50,000,000 spent ).

Helping to make sure the project fully funded earns them the 50% share.


Then what? ‘Oh no! SMM/MC will then earn the right to buy 75% of the product! Most likely at market rates!’ That’s great- it’s 3/4 of our business basically guaranteed ( if things go ahead- my friend jinx still isn’t welcome in my posts ).

Huge project. Huge companies have come to participate in making it become a fully operational business. This isn’t the first time a really big step forward has been portrayed as somehow bad and it won’t be the last.

If anyone is confused, this isn’t against your post - it’s in support of what I see as the viewpoint your post shows- & hopefully it might help a couple posters consider thinking things through and looking at the big picture before jumping in with ‘awww why don’t we still own every single piece of the pie?!’ type posts.

No use owning 100% of a pie that’s under ground! No one can eat any of that.
