The ARENA report was written in 2018 with electricity around $50-70/mwh and its currently $330/mwh. Since then the West has decided its doing its Great Resest and Green New Deal no matter what, social ramifications be damned, restricting hyrdrocarbon/energy development AND the US/NATO, forcing Russia's hand in Ukraine, is locking off Russian energy resources from every country it can muster into its corner. As a consequence we have according to Josh Stabler the biggest market signal the Australian energy/electricity market has ever seen along with immense political will (globally, top down) to both adjust society to higher energy prices and fund renewable energy initiatives whilst holding back on the coal. Energy is never going back to what it was before this (when that report was written). This is what makes the GRV geothermal project incredible, now. Not last year, not in 2018, not in 2000s. Only now.
