Survey measures deviation of hole azimuth and depth, typical deviation is 5-10 degrees over 600m. What are you concerned we are deviating from, in a maiden greenfield hole? This is the first sample ever from this depth in this location.
re orientation -. We just discovered the first known occurrence of magmatic PGEs and you are complaining the core is not measured. Had we known the future, we would have done downhole EM… and kept drilling deeper.
orientation & surveying happens during drilling. You can’t visually estimate PGE contents, you have to send samples to the lab, so why would you mindlessly measure dud rocks unless you know there is something worth measuring.
