The TGA statement that oro-mucosal sprays appear to have similar mode of action as oral administration also applies to ArTiMist (IMO). ArTiMist draws attention to retention time and swallowing in this case due to sickness and children. Artemether was absorbed through the upper gastrointestinal tract into the portal venous system rather than exhibiting the more substantial sublingual absorption as seen in adults. The swallowed portion undergoes FP metabolism of artemether to DHA. So don't see how this endorses a delivery system that claims to avoid FP metabolism.
