There were about 20 people who sat in on the tga decision, most of whom have no knowledge in the health sector. It surprised me to hear that the majority were people such as accountants and other pen pushing type roles that sit in on and make decisions in the area of disease treatment.

To relay the cause of their decision, when some may possibly be involved in the appeal probably isn't wise. All I can really say is there was no one involved with any knowledge of tropical diseases and treatments. They needed to research the illness, treatments and effects more closely than what they did. If 3 bodies involved in tropical disease and health treatments cleared it prior to going before the tga, Suda management had every reason to believe it would be passed.
