Its not just about EMG. Queensland government won't want to see the lights go out when the coal stops running to Stanwell. Remember that this and Callide are what gives most of the other mines electricity. I'd be pretty comfortable thinking that the mines have a higher service level agreement than household users... and the household users determine who runs the government... and as the government is effectively a shareholder through royalties/taxes/Stanwell... It's now a poker game about who has the most to lose and who is going to either 1) provide funds or 2) royalty relief.
