This could present an challenging public policy issue. I would prefer an ambulance to use a mobile stroke unit and administer the appropriate drug based on a 19 out of 20 chance of getting it correct. I would prefer the 19 out of 20 chance of avoiding brain damage and would be prepared to sign a waiver to say I have accepted the 1 out of 20 chance of dying.
