Knowing when to sell is more important than when to buy.
My suggestion is that seeing CBA goes ex-div on Wednesday, sell no later than Tuesday. The share price should immediately fall $3.57 on Wednesday below what it would have been cum-div. This means that you no longer have investors chasing the dividend & it could well be the beginning of a reversal.
Remember you have not made a profit until you sell.
In buying back into CBA it is a matter of deciding at what price you would be happy to buy. I make that decision by doing mathematical calculations based on previous price movements. Look for Fibonacci related retracements (e.g. 38.2%, 50% or 61.8% are common) of previous share price moves or usually called waves.
In understanding how previous wave movements indicate what to expect in future wave movements is an art not a science. The more experienced you become, the more accurate & successful you will be.
