I see a couple of issues here.
1. Boards are protected by Public officer's insurance and as long as they are not negiligent the insurance would pay any fine up to insured level. Now if found to be negiligent then the poor old shareholders take the can to cover any fines.
2. If negiligent then I smell a further potential hit. Yep a class action where shareholders also take the hit by funding lawyers on both sides.
So dont see any wins here for us plebs
