    Not unusual at all though when governments are involved as they also want to sell the story of job creation to the public. For them it's value added credit.

    People seem to enjoy having a go at China for their Belt and Road initiative and their endless credit but the US started this sort of thing post World War II will all their cash reserves and manufacturing know how, (with the exact same agency I believe, EXIM). They helped many European countries rebuild 1945-1946 onwards... now China gets bad press for their Belt and Road Initiative and for building cheap coal fired power plants to help Indonesia become a Nickel refining powerhouse.

    As a tiny shareholder in ASM I have no problems with the deal as long as the number stack up and we make a bit of profit along the way.
