hi fellas...interesting to read your comments. i am by the way an ex APZ holder and a holder of units in the parks fund. While this may be good for APZ, the parks fund has been a tragedy. This year has seen unit prices fall from $1.16 to about 49c, and, distributions have been scaled back accordingly.. (please feel free to correct me on exact prices as i am relying on a rapidly failing memory). APZ as a holder has felt the loss too. As for the outside offers, they are probably opportunistic, but the unitholders should have had more involvement. I didnt take up the entitlement....i dont want to throw good money after bad.....i just want to get out of the whole sordid mess. This is based on my experience with the Aspen Diversified Fund, in which unitholders lost 100% of their capital, those who took up the entitlement to prop up that fund got around 95% back.
I invested in APZ on the basis of investing in the company that collects the fees from the above funds, now, we all now how APZ's share price has behaved since 2008...from a couple of dollars down to 17 cents, prior to a consolidation.
The directors in the mean time have collected rather generous salaries for their progressive destruction of investors wealth.
As for the parks fund....i ( and i'm sure many others (given the low take up rate)), just want to get out of this mess before we get another update, bearing more bad news. Its not a good move to bail out at what looks like the bottom, but if Ingenia want the show, let them have it, maybe they can do a better job.
Sorry to put bad feelings on to this thread....but i just think of the overseas trips i could have had on that capital that has evaporated.....i have no love for those guys in the leather chairs at Aspen
