I've just had a quick brush-up on core logging. I think you're being a bit harsh. We already know that the PMs and PGMs aren't visible.
I'm not an expert though, so I'm always willing to listen to experts. I'd like to think I keep an open mind, although 'not so open that my brain falls out'.
