Just saw this article.Great Northern’s detailed 1m assays of recent reserve circulation drilling has supported and clarified the distribution of high-grade results within its Camel Creek project.
Notable results include 1m at 105.46g/t gold from 126m within a broader 6m zone grading 19.71g/t gold from 124m in CCRC86, 4m at 7.83g/t gold from 169m in CCRC80 and 8m at 1.48g/t gold from 120m in CCRC90.
Importantly for Great Northern Minerals (ASX:GNM), it confirms the potential of the target Hinge Zone with the top result in CCRC86 correlating with the down dip intersection of 3m at 23.84g/t gold from 166m in CCRC54 and further down dip with 1m at 153.89g/t gold from 191m in CCRC50.
This confirms the very high-grade structure over 100m of vertical down dip continuity.
The detailed assays come as the company prepares to carry out diamond drilling later this month to validate the strike and depth of mineralisation at the project, which will aid in the completion of a resource estimate.
“We continue to be very encouraged by the results we are achieving at Camel Creek and are confirming this system that saw gold mined at surface continues at depth and along strike,” managing director Cameron McLean said.
“We have learned a great deal about the extent of gold mineralisation particularly in the Hinge Zone.
“We now look forward to the diamond drilling due to commence in under two weeks ahead of the initial Camel Creek Resource Estimate.”
Diamond drilling
Planning for the diamond drilling program at Camel Creek is well advanced with site preparation now complete and an anticipated start by the end of October 2021.
The follow-up program is aimed at producing diamond core to validate and test further strike and depth extensions and will allow the completion of an initial resource estimate for Camel Creek.
Camel Creek is one of three historically mined projects with combined gold production of 160,000oz at an average of 1.91g/t that make up the company’s North Queensland assets.
It has the potential to outstrip the 154,000oz and 30,000oz resources at the Big Rush and Golden Cup projects respectively due to the size of its gold system.
