As the famous trader Peter Lynch said, when you go to the supermarket and see apples at 50c a kilo, you load up on them. But when investors go to buy a stock and see it discounted, they shun it.
I suppose our level of experience and knowledge dictates whether we buy stocks at a discount or pay a premium. Of course, often they are discounted for a very good reason, just like apples are...
