When ever a share shots up, I always take the risk off the table and then let my profits run.. Occasionally I will sell a portion of the profits on a good day and move them into another speccy... That way it is all cream & you can sleep at night. But I always still leave some in the investment. This has seen some cracking returns over time & I have moved from some play money to some play things...
Anyway if you are pooing ya pants cause the stock has fallen then you shouldn't be in shares. You are probably better off playing lawn bowls and moving to a place where the cost of living will sustain you on the pension.
