If by the term "Greed" you mean, starting up a 1 cent company, printing up all the "Glossy" brochures with plenty of "BUZZ" words and "HI REZ" pics and selling the "Hype" disguised as an asset to a bigger crowd for $1. Then YES that is greed, in a sinister sense. (Caveat Emptor)
However, if you take a 1 cent company, that has genuine asset value, that is overlooked by the masses, for one reason or another, and you take a stake in that company, and manage that asset until the masses buy it from you for 1$. Would you consider that to be "GREED"?
