RC drilling produces drill cuttings, whereas diamond drilling produces a core. It is easy to see mineralisation in the core coming from a DD rig, not so easy with the cuttings you extract from an RC rig. That’s why RC samples needs to be assayed before any company will be willing to comment on results.

On that note, you can see a colour change in RC cuttings, which could be indicative of mineralisation. But I seldom (never?) have seen an exploration company claiming to have hit mineralisation on an RC rig without lab assays - i.e. merely on colour change only.
