ASSET: PGW: PGW acquires Water Dynamics and Aquaspec businesses
PGG Wrightson (PGW) has confirmed the acquisition of the New Zealand
businesses, Water Dynamics and Aquaspec from global player Pentair. The deal
is due to complete on Monday, 28 October 2013.
In signing the deal this week PGW's CEO Mark Dewdney commented "Irrigation
has been one of our highest performing units in recent years and we see water
management as a key challenge and opportunity in agriculture and horticulture
in the foreseeable future. These new businesses are very complementary to our
existing Irrigation business and add a number of additional strengths to
extensively grow our reach across the water management sector."
Water Dynamics and Aquaspec have 45 staff located across branches in
Auckland, Hastings, Christchurch and Cromwell. Importantly this adds
representation in the North Island, and broadens PGW's reach into a number of
new areas such as municipal and turf, and with Aquaspec adds a wholesale
business with access to many more international brands.
General Manager for PGG Wrightson Irrigation, John Parker added "We are
really excited to add to our current business. The calibre of the staff in
Water Dynamics and Aquaspec is very high and we look forward to integrating
the businesses and becoming a larger player in water management around the
country. Importantly we will now have operations in the North Island which we
have been looking to do for some time. This is the perfect opportunity."
