I know you desperately want to believe in a grand conspiracy (most fools do); the chicken in this case is a massive back log.

I can't comment on the priority, as that will affect TAT or what lab are being used elsewhere (as a lot of labs are popping up to fill the void). There are basically 3 respected labs globally atm (a massive consolidation and takeover has been happening); Intertek, ALS and SGS. Then there are up and coming labs which you might take a risk on and increase your TAT. ASO uses ALS for Au and to get assays back from them is 6+months atm. The more respected, the more western (no foreign people to do the hard work) the longer it will take atm.
