Hmmm... appears to be a distraction given a number of assets they already have - and are in the process of doing something about them. It is a good idea in theory, but very remote sites. And the local economy? Who would pay for the electricity generation? Most of these places are little more than subsistence. I can understand KUTh entering into this agreement – only if it does not spend its current limited resources on them.

Conflict of interest with KUTh and agreement?

Look - I am not doubting the geological prospectivity, and in the long-long term, it is a good idea. However, the business model has yet to be proven. Lets see how Vanuatu progresses than this annoucement. More interesting geothermal business opportunities in the Rift Valley Kenya and Tanzania, and Japan, than these I suspect – and a better chance of being paid and making an economic return too !!!!!

Do these geothermal prospects occur near a potential mine site, aka Lihir? that is an acceptable proposition I suppose.
