Forrest and Rinehart are playing because it's junk - they spend a few hundred mil to protect the IO price - margin protection - by preventing production of more lower grade ore and, maybe, liberate a bit of port capacity.
If Forrest's interests are limited to IO, and he's not still involved as some part of his stated diversification plan, no-one's going to mine the Atlas IO in the foreseeable future.
'Care and maintenance', coming up!
If some of the analysts are right, and Rinehart's interest is primarily predicated on 'frustrating' lower grade IO production, and Forest's interest is primarily to 'frustrate' Rinehart, this whole show might just result in a whole lot of frustrated AGOers, if they call it a draw and leave it listed.
