Australia in general is slower on the uptake....we have a higher threshold of what we deem as unequivocal evidence. For example, we are still reluctant to accept that aerosol is a significant way of transmission. Whereas other countries have accepted that ,though it is not as probable as droplet, it is nonetheless significant. This works for us sometimes (when there is time to wait it out) and goes against us at other times (when we are dealing with more unknowns and time is of the essence). Hopefully John will keep advocating with specific ways the Ag tests can be used despite their reduced sensitivity. As has been mentioned so many times before, travel and high risk work places clearly have a need for rapid tests. Travel has the advantage of testing on both departure and arrival, which would no doubt increase the sensitivity to acceptable levels.
