there's a million books out there which explain various investing/trading strategies, but they all fail in the sense that certain strategies work sometimes/sometimes not. You still have to pick the right stock and select the right strategy. No substitute for experience in the market. Paper trading never works out the same way when you've actually got money in a stock because then other factors come into play.

so just plug away investing and watching market movements to get more experience - the first 15 years are the hardest.

main thing is to have some sort of plan once you enter a stock, and be disciplined about your trading - easy to say, not easy to do.
