Such theories will never be quashed because the point isn't accuracy or truth, the point is to induce others to buy. Whether from nervousness or greed, this is just another of a long list of tactics to encourage other people to buy stock. If it goes up it's because everyone wants it. If it goes down it's because everyone wants it (but they're trying to trick you!). Someone even wrote that down rampers are a signal to buy (if there aren't any, invent some)! What isn't a signal to buy to such folk? Slipping on a banana skin on the way to work would be a signal to buy (especially if it's a weekday - buy double! If it's a weekend, wait til Monday and buy triple!).

Bought a couple more today. I think it'll probably be good buying around Xmas and early Jan, and I'm confident it'll rally for a bit in Jan/Feb.
