This Melbourne to Perth AZJ intermodal was videod passing through the Geelong (Vic) area on 7 March 2024, three days before the rail line to Perth was closed for a mammoth 20 days due to flooding east of Kalgoorlie, WA.
There are c.14 container wagons vacant on a moderately long 69 vehicle train, but IIRC given it's timetabled next morning to be in Adelaide for a few hours, there may be extra containers placed on board.
Odd to see three LAU (I hold) railable containers as it signed a five year contract with AZJ unlisted rival Pacific National.
20 per cent of wagons devoid of containers on this Perth trip is a lot better on this much longer route than Brisbane to Melbourne shown in the previous post:
