Given that China is expanding its fleet rapidly the US can't afford for any of its shipyards to not be active. This is a good next step for Austal building Steel warships rather than Aluminium and should, in time, lead to more orders such as frigates and destroyers once they prove able to build on time, to specification and budget.
All in all they are doing what they said they would do so onwards and upwards!
