You need to do a little bit of research, see the December announcements and the "fantastic" deal the directors made with Lanstead giving away 20% of the company in exchange for an equity swap derivative that tracks AKK's stock price. The deal was for Lanstead to pay $4.5 million to AKK in 6 months for 64.9 million shares provided that the share price stays at 10.2 cents (they can't sell the shares for 2 years). If it falls below that benchmark price Lanstead pays much less. If you were Lanstead and own so many shares, wouldn't you lend the shares to some broker to short the stock so that you pay less? Initially Nomura borrowed the shares, they returned them recently, probably they realized the stock is illiquid and the market doesn't believe the company anymore. Lanstead may have changed strategy now, probably they might lend their stock to several parties so that it doesn't trigger the disclosure requirements. In summary, at least until end of June, Lanstead has an interest to keep the price down. Why would management do such a deal? who knows what goes behind the scenes! reason why no one is buying the stock. No clarity.
