I guess if they are to grow their share of the American pie they see locally (American) grown a better option than Australian imports. They are also sourcing from other American producers as well as their own produce. If they can replicate in America what they have achieved in Australia the sky is the limit.

On another note, Australia and California generally have an inverse climate correlation - more often than not, when eastern Australia is in drought, California is looking good, and vice versa, so it stabilises earnings (and you can harvest twice a year rather than once a year if you are in different hemispheres).
