I still remember some arguing it will be easy for ALK to develop NMPP on their own and all they need is to hire few people with porphyry experience and we are off to the races.
Also, some were adamant NMPP will be a mine in about 5 years time... that was about 1-1.5 years ago. lol
This preso, I hope, provides some clarity that ALK can't afford to even think about thinking to go solo.
It takes lot more than just hiring bunch of dudes from different companies with different cultures and processes to develop a porphyry deposit - especially low-grade deposit. And just one mistake can cost north of $500m which will mean immediate death for ALK - if they are flying solo.
