Well the volumes have been quite strong over the last few weeks during this price rise, so it helps to have confidence in the 'trueness' of the SP move. The manipulation is easier on short term, lower volumes. So if you are a fundamental, long term investor you should not worry about such potential bot trading, imo.

In terms of portfolio management, I always try to hold larger $$ in shares I have most conviction and most potential SP increase (i.e. most undervalued). Otherwise, as one of these two factors wanes, I reduce holdings until I feel comfortable ('sleep at night factor').
