We're in agreement on that, just watch a drone take off and you can see they need rapid discharge with high power capability. As fo Ecars, 1000km is more than enough which means the same weight as cars today with an LIS battery or 500km for an economy vehicle with half the battery weight. But following the cost reduction curve being acheived by the likes of BYD, CATL & Tesla etc moving to LIS tech simply may not be necessary as acceptable price and performance for EV's can be achieved without it. The battery is currently 40% of the cost of an EV and the price is well below $100KW so a 70kW LFPM battery costs less than $7k meaning a half decent economy hatchback can be made for ~Us$15k allowing a profitable sell price of $25k for the likes of BYD and Tesla (Model 2) who own and fully control their own supply chains and distribution networks. The others aren't so lucky and many will dissapear as the = vehicle will always be 20+% more due to supplier markups and dealer mark ups. The point is that an LIS will have a solution looking for a problem in the EV space that largely doesn't exist.... eg many EV's can do 0-100km in 6 seconds or less and already have a range of around 400km+ and are at cost partity with the = smoker (combustion engine) which 80% of car buyers are happy with to stop their hard earned going to a mad Saudi prince or Putin, so there is no real problem with the exitsing EV battery tech. A Tesla model 3 can already be had in the US for sub $30k which is well below the average new car price and the battery price is still dropping like a stone. The EV adoption is now passing the lower part of the S curve and has gone exponential with existing battery tech, with some sub $100k EV's enjoying exhilarating acceleration once reserved for supercars, any more and you would be in hospital with a snapped neck..... so EV's for LIS tech? no, but EVTOL, yes as other batteries simply wont get them off the ground. Its a pity we have to try and work this out ourselves as one suspects LIS managemnt are one step ahead of us but not spelling it out
