Interesting how much the 'rest of Australia' business has grown in the last year through the broker network.
Seems maybe Australians are becoming less parochial about their financing institutions?
Either that or it's recent migrants who don't care about dealing with an interstate bank.
ABA is the same some respects with other banks, bad debts & NIM are key but different in other as they focus on service & quality rather than quantity.
I wouldn't rule out ABA merging with BEN or a lower tier institution at some point in the future.
Suncorp banking would be a good fit if ANZ can't get it over the line but probably a bit of a stretch.
