Strong pressure for a BAPE


A significant number of citizens present expressed their distress at the mining company's refusal to submit to the analysis process of the Office of Public Hearings on the Environment (BAPE).
Action Boreal spokesman Henri Jacob denounces this refusal. "To refuse a BAPE is really to demonstrate bad faith. It is not true that it lengthens the process. It really calms the population, "he said.
Sayona Quebec spokesman Marc Parson merely recalled that the current process for projects of less than 2,000 tonnes was just as rigorous, he said. He explained that the BAPE process would take three years, which would be detrimental to rapid operation. Words that startle more than one, including Mr. Jacob. "I've been to many BAPE, then it takes six months," he exclaimed. "We have information contrary to that," said Mr. Parson
