Autodesk are after a part of the PCB market. A few years back they bought Eagle a entry level PCB product, and have been pouring money into their Fusion 360 product to add PCB functionally. Including acquiring a number of Altium employees along the way. Altium have 36 years of built up IP, customer base and so on. You can't just get that overnight, well of course, unless you buy a company with those assets, i.e. Altium.
I sit in from time to time on Altium investor meetings (I own a lot of ALU Stock), and I have been advising, when the question is asked, should we consider a takeover offer as an exit, my answer has always been NO, you have more to gain buy continuing to own Altium, and at some level, I believe we are still in the same boat.
So any offer is going to have to be very very strong or we (Altium stock holders) should just tell them to be on their way. I expect unless you are talking $50-$60 plus then don't waste our time. We are good thank you, we have better options.
